In the year 1952, courageous and purposeful Meraner wine farmers merged and established the Meraner Weinkellerei with the task to improve the wine quality and to increase sales. Through the unselfish efforts of the board of directors, through the diligence and the conscientiousness of the faithful colleagues and not least through the confidence and the consistency of the members, all initial difficulties were overcome so that today we can look at a healthy and soaring winery with more than 200 members and a managed area of more than 145 ha.
